LSU, Tulane working on a possible ’13 game

Way back in the days when people traveled by horse-and-carriage and dinosaurs ruled the earth, LSU and Tulane was a big football game.

That’s not the case anymore, but the Tigers and Green Wave could meet on the gridiron in the not-too-distant future. The New Orleans Times Picayune reports that the two sides are in discussions about a possible one-time game played in the New Orleans Superdome to start the 2013 season.

Sure, that’s Tulane’s home field, but anything in New Orleans is a de facto home game for the Tigers.

LSU’s 2013 non-conference schedule already includes games against TCU, UAB and FCS member Furman. Obviously, the biggest hurdle for a LSU-Tulane matchup would be whether or not the SEC decides to adopt a nine-game conference schedule.

LSU won the last meeting with Tulane, a 42-0 shutout, and holds a 69-22-1 lead in the all-time series.
