Those clever kids in Madison.The same school that brought you The Onion brings you one of the better April Fool’s Day jokes, with the alleged banning of beloved sideline reporter Erin Andrews from all events on campus at Wisconsin."The UW Athletic Department announced Tuesday it has reached an agreement with ESPN that will ban sideline reporter Erin Andrews from all future sporting events in Madison."The article also gathered fake quotes from athletic director Barry Alvarez and head coach Bret Bielema."I completely disagree with the University’s decision to ban Erin,” Bielema is fictionally quoted as saying. “I already miss seeing her beautiful face, which brings such warmth and optimism to all those around her. Once, she even complimented me on my Iowa Tiger Hawk tattoo."A fairly clever gag that I’m sure got more than a few frat guys up in arms before realizing the joke.
