Texas Tech is still unbeaten, but it wasn’t easy.In a wild ending, the No. 7 Red Raiders barely escaped at home against unranked Nebraska, finally managing to win 37-31 in overtime. The Red Raiders jumped out to an early lead and appeared to be comfortably ahead in the fourth quarter. But Nebraska stormed back to score 21 points in 12 minutes in the fourth quarter, sending the game into overtime. In the first overtime period, Red Raiders receiver Eric Morris scored a touchdown on an end-around, but they missed the extra point, setting up Nebraska with the opportunity to win it in the first overtime. But Nebraska quarterback Joe Ganz, who had had an excellent game up to that point, threw an interception at the worst possible time. That sealed the win for Texas Tech."Nebraska did a great job coaching, I thought,” Texas Tech coach Mike Leach said afterward. “Their team came in inspired and I thought their O-line did a great job, like the Nebraska O-line of old."But Leach’s new-school approach managed to beat Nebraska’s old-school approach, and Texas Tech remains a Top 10 team.
