Justin Boren created a little bad blood when he decided to transfer from Michigan last year. He created a lot more by saying that the erosion of family values under Rich Rodriguez was the biggest factor in his transfer.
Then came the ultimate knife in the back of Wolverine Nation: the offensive lineman transferred to hated rival Ohio State.
So this weekend, for the first time since leaving the program, Boren will face his former teammates. And he will face them in his former home.
For at least one of the Wolverines, it’s an opportunity to exact some “revenge” on the player who left the Hatfields for the McCoys.
“He’s just somebody that shouldn’t have been here in the first place,” defensive end Brandon Graham said. “He just didn’t feel like he needed to be here anymore. He could have gone anywhere else, but he went to Ohio State.
“That was just a slap in the face.”
Speaking of slaps in the face, and as noted by one of our esteemed readers, it’s been 2,187 days since Michigan beat Ohio State, so the Wolverines would probably be best served by focusing on beating the Buckeyes instead of exacting revenge on one player who stiffed them.
