CASH STACKS

Toronto Blue Jays (vs. New York Yankees - SP Jordan Montgomery)

The Toronto Blue Jays should be a very popular stack tonight. Vlad Guerrero Jr. has been dominating right-handed pitching (not lefties) oddly enough. Over 185 at-bats against righties this season, Vlad is batting .368 with 20 home runs. With that said, he’s faced three times as many righties compared to lefties. New York’s Jordan Montgomery is a left-handed pitcher but allows a .274 BA with seven home runs to opposing right-handed batters. Montgomery has yet to allow a home run to a left-handed batter this season. Toronto batters that I will be investing in are Randle Grichuk, Bo Bichette, Teoscar Hernandez, and of course, Vlad Gurerrro Jr.

Top Plays: Randal Grichuk, Bo Bichette, Teoscar Hernandez, & Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

Value: Santiago Espinal & Riley Adams[[ad:athena]]

GPP STACKS

New York Yankees (vs. Toronto Blue Jays - SP Hyun Jin Ryu)

One of my top GPP matchups tonight is between the New York Yankees and the Toronto Blue Jays. Ryu has held the Yankees to a .218 batting average over 110 prior at-bats. The Yankees are struggling against right-handed pitching, batting just .229 over 1,444 at-bats against this season. Ryu is a left-handed pitcher. New York batters who consistently struggle against Ryu include Rougned Odor, Brett Gardner, Gleyber Torres, and Kyle Higashioka. These Yankees are a combined 2 for 24 with eight strikeouts against Ryu. The rest of the Yankees don’t show particularly impressive BvP stats against Ryu except for Miguel Andujar and Gary Sanchez. These two powerful right-handed batters have totaled three home runs against Ryu in just 10 combined at-bats. Obviously, this is a small sample size but these two batters should be hitting relatively close to one another in the backend of New York’s lineup. Depending on which players occupy the remaining backend roster spots for New York, this could be a sneaky GPP option. Most people avoid the backend stacks but the truth is, six, seven, eight, nine batters are just as capable as the front of the order batters. Investing in a New York Yankee’s backend stack will give you salary flexibility while maintaining GPP upside as Sanchez & Andujar are home-run threats. The New York Yankees are underdogs (+110) with a 9 O/U courtesy of Pointsbet.com.
