Welcome to Playing the Tips!

Each week this will be the one-stop resource to soak in all the picks from our fantasy staffers at Rotoworld.com.

Page 1 is going to look at Daily Fantasy Sports picks (FanDuel, Yahoo, and DraftKings).

Page 2 will have a look at One-and-Done options as well as PGATOUR.com’s fantasy game.

Daily Fantasy Sports [DFS]

I will be giving out selections for one team for each DFS site, per week.

These lineups will be entered into a large-entry Guaranteed Prize Pool. That means we need to take a risk or two, in order to separate ourselves from the field.

The idea is to provide you a list of names to consider. I would not recommend copying these teams, golfer for golfer. Duplicate teams are no fun and don’t help anyone.

FanDuel Picks:

Jim Furyk (10,900): You don’t think of him as a birdiemaker but he’s posted more birdies than the field in 15 of his last 19 rounds played. He brings great form to a course where he owns a pair of top 10s in four tries.

Ryan Moore (10,100): Hasn’t fully got into high gear this season but a comfy course might do the trick. Moore has been efficient at TPC San Antonio, posting top 20s in all three trips.

Ryan Palmer (9,800): Not many with a better course resume. He’s posted four top 10s in nine starts here and also has a T15 on his resume.

Luke List (10,500): Back-to-back missed cuts at the Valero but he missed on the number last year and by one stroke in 2017. Too close to say it’s a bad course for him. Love his upside as a fantasy scorer from a hole-by-hole basis.

Jimmy Walker (9,700): Still searching for his lost upside results but a home game could be the cure. He’s a course horse here with a win an four other top 16s in nine tries.

Nick Taylor (8,700): He sits in the bargain bin but he arrives with five straight top 35s and top 20s in two of his three VTO starts.

DraftKings Picks -- @futureoffantasy:

Rickie Fowler (11,700): Doesn’t have course history to lean on but he’s one of the best at getting into contention the week before a major. He doesn’t show up at these events just to go through the motion. He wants to feel that Sunday pressure ahead of the Masters next week.

Sepp Straka (6,600): Already has five rounds recorded this season where he’s gained four or more strokes over the field. I don’t love his long-term baseline but his go-low potential makes him interesting in GPPs for this price point.

Adam Schenk (6,700): Short game has been important at TPC San Antonio over the year and Schenk proved he can handle the harsh runoffs by gaining strokes in the short-game department (ARG+Putting) in all four rounds last year in his VTO debut.

Wyndham Clark (7,100): Has gained DraftKings Points over the field in 76 percent of his rounds over the last three months. That’s second in the field behind only Jason Kokrak. That doesn’t include his DQ round but if you include that he still sits at 73% which is top 5 in the field. He’s playing great golf right now.

Adam Long (6,400): Last year it was Landry that turned a playoff loss at the Desert Classic into a win at the Valero. Long won the Desert Classic this year, which is played on overseeded bermuda, so let’s see if we can catch lightning in a bottle again.

Matt Kuchar (11,200): A perfect blend of course history/experience combined with great form. Just need to hope he’s not gassed after Match Play.

DraftKings Picks -- @DaveTindallGolf:

Jim Furyk ($9,600) – Runner-up at Sawgrass and owns a third and a sixth here. No reason why Gentleman Jim can’t continue to perform at the high level he’s seamlessly slotted back into.

Ryan Moore ($9,100) – Course horse with three top 20s in three visits, two of those doubling as top tens. Solid stats and T20 at Sawgrass.

HaoTong Li ($8,600) – Chinese youngster has played well in the wind on the European Tour and likely to be overlooked here when he really shouldn’t be.

Luke List ($8,000) – Has some strong form on tough, windy Bermuda courses. T10 Bay Hill a nice reminder of his talents and this has been a good event for first-time winners.

Matt Jones ($7,200) – Might be a smart move to have an Aussie on board at this Greg Norman design. Scott and Bowditch have both won the event and Jones comes in off back-to-back top 20s.

Scott Stallings ($7,000) – Slimmed-down three-time PGA TOUR winner is still capable of landing the fat cheques, especially in tough scoring conditions. T9 at Valspar last time; two top 15s here. ‘

DraftKings Picks -- @MattCooperGolf:

Sungjae Im ($10,100) – Nine top 20s already this season and three top tens in his last four starts. There has to be a possibility of the horse having bolted, but the carrot of the Masters sways the pick.

Billy Horschel ($9,800) – He might not have hit his straps as he did at the end of 2018, but his consistency is mighty and where better to move through the gears? Four finishes of T11 or better in his last four starts on the Oaks.

Charley Hoffman ($8,200) – Another course specialist (seven times T13 or better) and I like that he loves Augusta National and will want to maintain the momentum of his T18 last time out at Innisbrook.

Daniel Berger ($7,800) – Not been the comeback he hoped for, but was second in Puerto Rico and I like the salary vs. potential equation. Missed the one cut here, but good Texas form at Houston and Las Colinas.

Dylan Frittelli ($7,300) – Went to college in Texas, loves the state, hits fairways for fun (which matters here), T20 on his course debut, and chalked three 67s in his last six laps on Tour.

Roberto Castro ($6,400) – Bit leftfield, but the one-time he did make a cut here (he’s failed three times) he hit more greens than anyone and that’s a useful trick on this track; 9-for-10 this season.

Yahoo Picks:

Nick Taylor (23): He’s a great course fit on paper and he’s backed it up with two top 25s in three visits to the Valero.

Billy Horschel (39): Looking ahead to the One-and-Done section on Page 2, Billy Ho brings a good mix of baseline performance AND course history.

Bud Cauley (27): Has four career top 10s in Texas including a T10 in his last VTO appearance (2017).

Trey Mullinax (24): Owns the course record of 62 at the AT&T Oaks Course which came in R3 of last year’s VTO.

Lucas Glover (42): The Clemson product has NINE top 20s this season.

Jordan Spieth (43): Nobody wants to invest in a high-priced Spieth right now but he’s gained 2 or more strokes over the field in 10-of-14 rounds played at TPC San Antonio.
