Camilo Villegas | A week of rest likely did the Colombian some good after a hectic couple of weeks. He’s still one of the game’s most explosive players and he has four top-10s and a victory this year. | | | 5 |
Charl Schwartzel | The up-and-coming South African is no longer under the radar and the voters here think that Bay Hill will set up nicely for him. Two victories in South Africa and top-10s in two WGCs show he’s for real. | | | 6 |
Jim Furyk
| The veteran ends a 2 ½-year title drought on a tough golf course last week near Tampa and his renewed confidence makes him an instant Masters possibility. It’s a shame that so few saw the final putt at Transitions. | | | 7 |
Padraig Harrington | Another solid week for the Irishman: Wednesday St. Patrick’s Day party at the White House followed by four solid days at Innisbrook that resulted in an eight-place tie. Paddy’s heating up. | | | 8 |
Ian Poulter | The Englishman is cooling off with consecutive poor finishes at Doral (T-38) and Transitions (73-73 for a missed cut). But his play at the WGC-Match Play and strong start to the season keeps him hanging on this list. | | | 9 |
Martin Kaymer | The young, smooth German took the week off but still makes this list because of his consistency. A victory at Abu Dhabi, T-4 in Dubai and a T-3 a week ago at Doral give him a nice resume so far. | | | 10 |
Retief Goosen
| Forget the long putter and the cross-handed grip, the South African has finished outside the top 10 just twice in seven events this year and is due for a big week here sometime over the next month. |
