Notah Begay III will be honored by the Golf Writers Association of America. Begay will receive the Charlie Bartlett Award for the work of his NB3 Foundation, which seeks to prevent obesity and promote healthy behavior among Native American youth.

The award is named after the past president of the GWAA and given to an individual who has made unselfish contributions for the betterment of society.

Begay holds an annual golf tournament to raise money for foundation programs, as well as being a panelist on health, led by the Clinton Foundation at the Humana Challenge. The efforts of Begay have raised $3.23 million and touched over 10,000 Native American youth.

A four-time PGA Tour winner, Begay is the only Native American to compete on Tour.
