Major champion and Solheim Cup veteran Michelle Wie will serve as a studio analyst this week as part of Golf Channel’s coverage of the biennial matches from Gleneagles in Scotland.
Wie, 29, has won five times on the LPGA tour including the 2014 U.S. Women’s Open. She played on five straight U.S. Solheim Cup teams from 2009-17, helping the Americans to three victories in that span while compiling an 8-9-1 individual record.
Wie has played sporadically this year while battling injuries and in June announced that she was “taking the rest of the year off from competitive golf” while recovering from hand and wrist surgery. This will mark the television analyst debut for Wie, who is also scheduled to contribute to the network’s digital and social media platforms over the weekend. She will first appear on-air Friday on Golf Central at 1:30 p.m. ET, following Day 1 coverage at Gleneagles.

“I’m excited to join the Golf Channel crew to give my views and inputs on a great event that means so much to me,” Wie said.
Matches will begin Friday in Scotland, where the Americans will look to retain the trophy for the third straight time.
