AUGUSTA, Ga. – Most of the pre-Masters hype surrounded Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. Lee Westwood, Phil Mickelson and Luke Donald were mentioned, but were on the periphery of many of the conversations.
While Westwood has a blemish-free card so far with seven consecutive pars to open his second round, McIlroy and Mickelson have both made early moves.
McIlroy, who birdied 17 and 18 Thursday to shoot 71, opened with two pars before making birdies on Nos. 3 and 4. He is 3 under overall, two behind Westwood.
Mickelson, closed with birdie in the opening round to shoot 74, but also birdies Nos. 3 and 4 in the second round to jump to even par for the tournament.
Tiger Woods tees off at 1:42 p.m. ET.
