Will Tiger win the Memorial?

Thumbnail

It’s a simple question: Do you think Tiger Woods will win the Memorial Tournament today? Why or why not?

Is a four-stroke deficit too much to overcome? Woods has come from five strokes behind before, and 54-hole leader Spencer Levin blew a six-shot lead earlier this year. But that could serve as inspiration and motivation for Levin, who says he learned from his disaster at Phoenix.

You can’t ignore the second- and third-place players, either. Rory Sabbatini has six PGA Tour wins, and Rickie Fowler is on a streak of three top-five finishes, including a win at the Wells Fargo Championship last month. But Sabbatini does not have a history of strong finishes in the Memorial, and Fowler’s Wells Fargo win is his only one on the PGA Tour.

Woods already has four wins in this tournament, so he knows and likes the course. But will his putter, which went cold on Saturday, behave?

Then there’s the fact that a win would give Woods 73 on the PGA Tour and tie him with tournament host Jack Nicklaus. Talk about incentive.
