Minor league free agent Bill Pulsipher yielded one unearned run and two hits in six innings for Mayaguez of the Puerto Rican League yesterday.
Pulsipher, who ended last season with Triple-A Tacoma after spending most of the year in the Atlantic League, is 3-1 with a 1.29 ERA in four starts.

Cardinals signed LHP Bill Pulsipher to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.
Pulsipher had a decent winter in Puerto Rico, but that’s not going to put him in position to make the Cardinals. Even with Rick Ankiel expected to assume a spot in the rotation initially, he’s still behind four lefty relievers -- Ray King, Mike Myers, Carmen Cali and Randy Flores.

Bill Pulsipher fanned 15 while allowing four runs -- three earned -- and 10 hits in eight innings for Triple-A Memphis on Saturday.
Pulsipher had only recently rejoined Memphis following a demotion to Double-A Springfield. He matched the Redbirds’ single-game strikeout record that had just been set by Anthony Reyes a few weeks ago.

Bill Pulsipher pitched eight scoreless innings Sunday for Triple-A Memphis.
He’s 1-2 with a 4.31 ERA for the Redbirds since being demoted on May 9.

Bill Pulsipher pitched tonight despite a fractured toe and struck out the only batter he faced.
If Pulsipher can pitch through the pain, the Cardinals will move forward with their plans to include him on their roster.

Bill Pulsipher’s chances of making the Cardinals took a hit yesterday when X-rays revealed he has a fractured toe.
A non-roster invitee, Pulsipher has had a good spring and was in a position to make the team before a line drive hit him Wednesday. Pulsipher is scheduled to test the injury by pitching in a minor league game this weekend.
  • STL Relief Pitcher
Bill Pulsipher gave up one hit while striking out the side in the ninth inning versus Baltimore today.
Pulsipher has yet to give up a run or walk a batter in six innings this spring, inserting himself into the mix for a bullpen spot.

Orioles reassigned LHP Bill Pulsipher, RHP Mike Drumright, LHP Erik Bedard and C Carlos Mendez to minor league camp.
Pulsipher allowed one run and two hits in 3 1/3 innings during camp, but the Orioles have been more impressed by Eric DuBose. Bedard, the team’s top pitching prospect, underwent Tommy John surgery last year and will miss most of the season.

Bill Pulsipher threw off a mound Friday for the first time since going on the DL with a hamstring injury on April 11.
Pulsipher is still a few weeks away. The Cardinals will want him to spend a week or two in the minors before he returns.

Despite a fractured toe and hamstring problems, Bill Pulsipher has made the Cardinals’ Opening Day roster.
''I’ve been going through spring not taking anything for granted,’' Pulsipher said. ''I’ve stopped myself several times and tried to keep it on an even keel. But I can’t wait for it. I’m going to be in the big leagues again. It’s more gratifying than when I made it the first time.’' Pulsipher last pitched in the majors back in 2001.
