Braves purchased the contract of RHP Juan Jaime from High-A Lynchburg.
Jaime was converted to a closer in his first season coming back from Tommy John surgery. The 25-year-old will now be protected from the Rule 5 draft.

Dodgers acquired RHP Juan Jaime, INF Alberto Callaspo, LHP Eric Stults, and LHP Ian Thomas from the Braves for 3B Juan Uribe and RHP Chris Withrow.
Jaime has posted troubling walk rates in both the minors and majors, and is nothing more than a throw-in here. The 27-year-old righty will head to extended spring training before joining the Dodgers’ Triple-A affiliate.

Braves recalled RHP Juan Jaime from Triple-A Gwinnett.
He’ll replace Pedro Beato on the active roster. Jaime has been pitching as the closer in Triple-A this year, posting a 2.39 ERA, 17 saves, and a 40/20 K/BB ratio over 26 1/3 innings. He has a big arm, but struggles to throw strikes with consistency.
  • LAD Relief Pitcher
Braves optioned RHP Juan Jaime to Triple-A Gwinnett.
Jaime allowed just one earned run and struck out seven batters in four innings of relief for the Braves. The 26-year-old right-hander has also been impressive this season as the primary closer for Gwinnett. He’s sure to get another shot in Atlanta soon.

Braves recalled RHP Juan Jaime from Triple-A Gwinnett.
Jaime will replace the injured Shae Simmons (shoulder) on the active roster. The young fireballer has allowed one run in four innings with the big club this season to go along with a 7/1 K/BB ratio.

Braves optioned RHP Juan Jaime to Triple-A Gwinnett.
Jaime was only up with the big club for a day and didn’t make an appearance. The Braves are clearing room for the return of David Carpenter (biceps), who will be activated Wednesday.

Braves recalled RHP Juan Jaime from Triple-A Gwinnett.
He’ll take the place of Evan Gattis (back) on the active roster. Jaime made four appearances with the Braves earlier this season and has posted a 2.30 ERA, 13 saves, and a 41/20 K/BB ratio over 27 1/3 innings in Triple-A this year. He’ll pitch in middle relief.
  • LAD Relief Pitcher
Braves designated RHP Juan Jaime for assignment.
Jaime throws hard, but he just hasn’t been able to find the plate consistently in the majors or minors. It’s possible some team will take a shot on the 27-year-old on waivers.
  • LAD Relief Pitcher
Braves sent RHP Juan Jaime outright to Triple-A Gwinnett.
It’s a tad surprising that he cleared waivers, as there’s usually always one team willing to take a shot on a guy who can tough the upper-90s with his fastball. However, it appears that not only the Braves are skeptical about Jaime’s ability to ever throw strikes consistently.
  • LAD Relief Pitcher
Juan Jaime walked three and gave up four runs in two-thirds of an inning Friday against the Nationals.
Jaime is 27 and entering his third year on the Braves’ 40-man roster, but it doesn’t look like the team is ready to count on him as a bullpen piece. He has one of the strongest arms in the league, but he walked 45 in 53 1/3 innings between Triple-A and the majors last year. We’re not very optimistic that he’ll ever be of much use.
