Course reversal: Orlando Cabrera added to Reds’ lineup

In a major surprise, Orlando Cabrera was added to Cincinnati’s starting lineup for Sunday night’s Game 3 after getting through batting practice on the field before the game. The Reds originally had Paul Janish starting and batting eighth against the Phillies, but Cabrera was inserted into his customary No. 2 slot. Cabrera is 1-for-5 through the first two games of the NLDS. The 35-year-old hit .263/.303/.354 in 494 at-bats for the Reds this season. Janish was better, coming in at .260/.338/.385 in 200 at-bats, and he offers at least as much range at shortstop, but Dusty Baker trusts his veteran, even if he isn’t close to 100 percent.
