David Ortiz returns to starting lineup after getting two days off to work on swing

David Ortiz

David Ortiz is back in the starting lineup for the Red Sox tonight after getting two days off to work on his swing. The veteran slugger will bat third against Rangers right-hander Alex “Chi Chi” Gonzalez, who will be making his major league debut.

Ortiz is currently mired in a 1-for-20 slump. The 39-year-old is batting just .216/.303/.377 with six home runs and 18 RBI through 43 games this season.

According to Cody Stavenhagen of MLB.com, Ortiz spent the past two days going through a normal routine and has been trying to figure out his swing by working in the cage and watching video. Will it work? Take it away, Professor Ortiz...
