For now at least David Wright has avoided the disabled list with a bruised rotator cuff in his left shoulder, but the Mets just announced that the All-Star third baseman will be out of the lineup until at least Friday.

In fact, Wright isn’t even on the team’s current road trip to Atlanta and Mike Vorkunov of the Newark Star Ledger reports that he’ll rejoin the team when it returns to New York on Friday after getting “rest and treatment until then.”

Wright played through the injury for several weeks before shutting things down over the weekend and actually currently has a 10-game hitting streak during which he’s posted a 1.083 OPS with eight extra-base hits.
