Dodgers second baseman Howie Kendrick has missed four consecutive games due to a minor right knee injury, suffered while sliding into third base on Wednesday against the Rockies. Manager Don Mattingly is hopeful that Kendrick will return to the starting lineup on Monday, when the Dodgers open a three-game series at home against the Diamondbacks, Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Kendrick has had a typically solid season, batting .285/.347/.430 with five home runs and 23 RBI in 219 plate appearances. Enrique Hernandez has started at second base while Kendrick has been on the mend.
