Ken Rosenthal reports that the Dodgers have signed Max Muncy to a three-year, $26 million extension with a $13 million club option for 2023.
Muncy and the Dodgers were scheduled to go to arbitration, with Muncy requesting $4.675 million and the Dodgers offering $4 million. Now he’ll make twice that per annum for the next three seasons.
Muncy, 29, has posted a combined .927 OPS with 70 home runs over the last two seasons while playing first, second and third base. With top prospect Gavin Lux poised to join the big club for good this year, Muncy is likely going to be the Dodgers’ everyday first baseman.
