David Aardsma notched 69 saves as a member of the Mariners from 2009-2010, but we haven’t heard much from him since he underwent Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery in the middle of the 2011 season.
Aardsma made one appearance with the Yankees in 2012 before posting a 4.31 ERA and 36/19 K/BB ratio over 39 2/3 innings with the Mets in 2013, but he pitched exclusively in the Cardinals minor league system (with a 1.29 ERA and 36 strikeouts in 35 innings in Triple-A) last year. The 33-year-old is hoping to get back on the radar in 2015:

But is he in the best shape of his life? Tell us, Jamie Murphy. No matter how Aardsma looks on Monday, he’ll almost certainly have to settle for a minor league deal as he tries to work his way back into a major league bullpen.
