Marlins right-hander Henderson Alvarez has already been sidelined for two months with shoulder inflammation, but there’s now a chance that his season is over.

Alvarez recently made two minor league rehab starts with High-A Jupiter, but apparently something didn’t feel quite right. It’s worth noting that he also reportedly has a partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow, though this injury isn’t known to be related. Either way, it’s increasingly clear that this will be a lost season for him.
