Joe Biagini may get some save chances while Roberto Osuna is out

The Blue Jays placed closer Roberto Osuna on the 10-day disabled list to open the regular season, as the right-hander is dealing with a cervical spasm. Veteran closer Jason Grilli, as expected, will serve as the primary closer while Osuna is out.

Jon Morosi, however, reports that Joe Biagini may also get some save chances, along with Grilli, during Osuna’s absence. The 26-year-old impressed last season as a rookie, finishing with a 3.06 ERA and a 62/19 K/BB ratio in 67 2/3 innings. He’s certainly a good fallback option as Grilli is 40 years old and coming off of a comparatively mediocre season, as he put up a 4.12 ERA with the Braves and Jays.
