This is both unusual and, well, gross: Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner was scratched from last night’s game against the A’s after a pimple on his leg became infected. He actually went to the emergency room for the dang thing.
Don Mattingly: “It had kind of blown up and wasn’t very pretty.” Which, again, eww.
Turner is hitting .323/.387/.563 on the year. And, as of last night, he leads all of baseball in unusual reasons for missing games.
