The Rangers have signed GM Jon Daniels and assistant GM Thad Levine to contract extensions, Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports. Details of the contracts are not known, though Heyman does mention that Daniels has received multiple years on his new deal.

Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram confirms Heyman’s report and adds that the Rangers could make an announcement on Friday.

Daniels, who has been the GM of the Rangers since 2005, has led the club to two World Series, both losses. Due to a rash of injuries this past season, the Rangers saw their win total drop from 91 in 2013 to 67 in 2014, finishing 31 games out in last place in the AL West.

Levine has been with the Rangers as long as Daniels. He was in the running for the then-open GM spot with the Diamondbacks, but removed himself after careful consideration. The job ultimately went to former major leaguer Dave Stewart.
