Boston is on top in Game 6 of the World Series.
Cardinals rookie sensation Michael Wacha was sharp through the first two innings, but Jacoby Ellsbury opened the bottom of the third with a single to right field, David Ortiz was issued an intentional walk and Jonny Gomes took a pitch off his left shoulder to load the bases with Red Sox. Shane Victorino then slugged a bases-clearing double off the Green Monster to put the Red Sox up 3-0.
Red Sox starter John Lackey has given up some hard-hit balls, but the Cardinals have again failed to make any real noise with runners in scoring position. The top of the fourth inning is about to begin at a ready-to-celebrate Fenway Park.
