Molitor, 61, has managed the Twins to a 227-259 (.467) record over three seasons at the helm. This season, after losing 103 games in 2016, the Twins went 85-77, qualifying for the second AL Wild Card slot. In doing so, they became the first team to reach the postseason in the season following a 100-loss campaign.
Molitor earned enshrinement in the Baseball Hall of Fame for his 21-year career as a player, batting .306/.369/.448 across 15 seasons with the Brewers and three each with the Twins and Blue Jays.
