Released from Triple-A by the Orioles last week, Jair Jurrjens has agreed to another minor-league contract with the Tigers.
Detroit is an awfully tough rotation to crack, although with the way Jurrjens pitched before getting cut by Baltimore it won’t really matter. He had a 4.18 ERA and just 52 strikeouts in 95 innings at Triple-A while allowing 126 baserunners.
Jurrjens is still just 27 years old, but hasn’t been effective since mid-2011 and injuries have turned him into a shell of his former self.
