Jordan King will remain with Racing Engineering for a second season in the GP2 Series following an announcement by the team on Friday.

King, 21, made his debut in GP2 last year with Racing Engineering alongside American driver Alexander Rossi, and claimed one podium finish en route to 12th in the final standings.

The British racer will spend a second season in GP2 this year with Racing Engineering and hopes to fight for the championship.

“Firstly I finished the year on a high after just winning the FIA institute and performing well on the last couple of weekends I went into the end of year testing with Racing Engineering confident and it gave us a lot of time to run through everything we needed to,” King said.

“So for that reason it felt right to stay with the team as I have built up a good relationship with the guys and I think keeping continuity is worth a lot in any junior championship specially in a year in which I will be going for the championship.

“I know the team will be fully behind me to make that happen and will put out all the stops to give it their best shot.”
