Yamaha MotoGP teammates Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo have reignited their spat following a battle during Sunday’s San Marino Grand Prix at Misano.

Rossi and Lorenzo have been fierce rivals for much of their time together in MotoGP, having spent two separate stints as Yamaha teammates.

The pair are both in contention for this year’s MotoGP riders’ title along with Honda’s Marc Marquez, and took their battle on-track at Misano on Sunday.

Lorenzo took pole and retained the lead at the start, only for Rossi to dive past him on the second lap with a bold overtake that forced the Spanish rider out wide.

Dani Pedrosa ultimately battled his way through to claim the race win for Honda, leaving Rossi to finish second ahead of Lorenzo in third.

In the post-race press conference, both riders were asked about their battle, leading to bickering between the two - Pedrosa sitting in the middle all the while.

Rossi and Lorenzo’s second stint as teammates will come to an end following the 2016 season, with Lorenzo signed up at Ducati from 2017.
