While Doc Rivers and the Clippers are trying to figure out what to do about their troubled wing position — Matt Barnes was back in the starting lineup Saturday and Jamal Crawford was coming off the bench — they have been without one of the arrows in the quiver.

Chris Douglas-Roberts had missed three of the past four Clippers games going into Saturday night, and it appears he’s going to miss a couple more — he is out a couple of weeks with a sore hamstring, Doc Rivers announced at the Clippers game Saturday. Via clippers.com:

“I would say this, that he has had a problem and didn’t really express it to the trainers, from what I understand,” Rivers said. “My guess is yes, it probably has affected him. But he’s new and he wanted to play, so he was probably going through that and didn’t want to say anything. Then it got to a point where it really started affecting him, so he finally had to say something.”

Roberts confirmed all this on twitter.

Roberts has not made a big impact on the Clippers, playing just more than 11 minutes a game and averaging 2 points and 1.8 rebounds a night. Maybe that will change once he gets healthy. If he really wants to get on the floor for Doc he’s going to have to really defend, something he’s never really been known for doing consistently.
