Joel Embiid has been extremely active on Twitter this summer, but has mostly stuck with comedy, at least until now.
His most recent effort there, however, may have broken some news that the Sixers weren’t quite ready to announce.Officially signed my NBA contract today... I’m BLESSED!!!! The American Dream “Coming to America” pic.twitter.com/SYa5i4uAUc

From Bob Cooney of Philly.com:
In other news, rookie Joel Embiid tweeted out that he had signed his contract with the team, but sources close to the situation said he jumped the gun a little bit on that. The team isn’t ready to announce Embiid’s or any of the other rookie’s signings. That should be coming in the not-too-distant future.
It’s tough to see any real harm being done here, especially because teams never announce the actual terms of player contracts, and there’s a rookie scale in place that gives us a fairly small range of what the dollar amount might actually be. And, it’s not like there was any question as to whether or not Embiid would ultimately be signed. But it is an example of why we can expect Embiid to slow down on Twitter once the season approaches -- something even he himself seems to be well aware is coming.
I guess now I have to turn my chill on so I don’t get fined
