The Lakers played a closer game than expected against the Clippers on Friday, and were within a single possession trailing by three with 21 seconds left before eventually falling to the far more talented squad.

Given how close they came in this one, the Lakers are probably kicking themselves for this third quarter misstep that saw Blake Griffin get loose for a completely uncontested slam.

What appeared to happen, here, is this: The Lakers were huddling during a dead ball situation, and you can see the referee in the background walking with the ball to give to a Clippers player to begin the sideline out of bounds play.

But the Lakers were so engrossed in the conversation that they failed to realize play was about to resume until it was too late, and Griffin took advantage by grabbing an easy two points.
