Byron Scott is a good basketball coach. Yes, he is 40-108 in two seasons with Cleveland, but considering he walked into the post-LeBron trash pile that was the Cavaliers roster, that’s not all that bad.
So they are working to keep him beyond this next season, when his deal expires. So reports the News-Herald (via IamaGM.com).
Cleveland will want to take care of this before Scott’s contract ends and he becomes a free agent, at that point he likely would have options.
The Cavaliers have a young stud in Kyrie Irving and a couple of young question marks in Dion Waiters and Tristan Thompson. They are rebuilding and it’s a process. But so long as Scott and Irving have a good relationship there is no reason to consider a change.
