Jakob Poeltl won’t be the only probable first-round pick forgoing the 2015 NBA draft.
Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports:
Dunn dazzled this season, averaging 15.6 points, 7.5 assists and 2.7 steals per game. He’s long and athletic, though he has a tendency to play a bit wild. He was in contention to be the third point guard drafted, after Emanuel Mudiay and D’Angelo Russell.
But it will take a monster junior season for Dunn to improve his draft stock from the middle of the first round, where it sits now.
There were already concerns about Dunn dominating just because he’d outgrown the competition. Those will only increase next year, when Dunn turns 22.
He didn’t play nearly as well as most top prospects do as a freshman, though injuries certainly played a role. He got hurt again last season and took a redshirt. So, his late blossoming is somewhat excusable. But to prove his value, Dunn will have to to meet very high expectations.
