Victor Oladipo just can’t catch a break.
The Magic guard sprained his MCL, leaving him in doubt for the season opener. But he returned to practice – just in time for another setback.
Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel:
Victor Oladipo will be out "indefinitely" after he suffered a facial fracture in practice Thursday.

Team officials say Oladipo received an accidental elbow in the face during a practice drill, and he will undergo surgery Sat.

Goodness gracious. I’ve been looking forward to Oladipo’s season, and now, who knows when it will get off the ground?
On the bright side for the Magic – despite their own vote – the draft lottery will still significantly reward the league’s worst teams. It was difficult to see Orlando pushing out of the cellar with Oladipo, and it’s even tougher to envision it now.
Maybe – maybe – this injury improves the Magic’s long-term outlook. As long as Oladipo makes a full recovery, they might be better-positioned to draft another talented player. But this should makes their present much drearier.
