WATCH: Cavaliers set NBA record by hitting nine three-pointers without a miss in first quarter vs. Hawks
Before the season began, this is the type of offensive performance most of us thought we’d be seeing on a regular basis from these Cleveland Cavaliers.
Before this particular game, however, the lighting up of the scoreboard seemed far less certain.
The Cavaliers were coming off of a thrilling road win over the Celtics just the night before, while the Hawks had just dropped 114 points on the Miami Heat, and came into this one winners of four straight. But Atlanta clearly didn’t have the intensity from a defensive standpoint in this one, and were undoubtedly demoralized by Cleveland hitting its first 11 three-pointers of the game -- nine of which came in the first quarter alone, which set an NBA record.
The Cavaliers led by as many as 43 points before cruising to the 127-94 victory.
