For at least one night, the common angry fan refrain of “How did you miss that?” can be answered with “Well, the other guy would have seen it.”
The unusual tornado/storm weather in the Dallas area apparently kept referee Brad Meier (pictured) from traveling to Sunday’s St. Louis Blues - Dallas Stars game, according to multiple reporters.
Get your jokes ready ...
1 referee tonight in @DallasStars @StLouisBlues as Brad Meier cant make it cause of weather. Go ahead tweeters fill your boots with this one

Only one referee for tonight's game. One couldn't make it due to weather.

There’s a chance he might just be late, though.
It sounds like referee Brad Meier may make it at some point. NHL says he is delayed and game will "start" with one ref, two linesmen.

As someone who’s in the area during the holiday season, it indeed was a pretty frightening scene at times on Saturday. Some regions of the general Dallas area were devastated by tornadoes and other storms, which normally aren’t expected until the spring:

The Blues managed a shootout win against the Stars last night, so the two teams are set to close off a back-to-back set with this game.
You can see Kevin Shattenkirk save the day in overtime here.
