The Colorado Avalanche cut down their training camp roster on Wednesday, and Andrej Meszaros was one of the players who couldn’t stay in the mix.
Meszaros, 29, was released from his PTO.
As far as AHL demotions go, the Avalanche sent Patrick Bordeleau, Marc-Andre Cliche and Zach Redmond down to San Antonio in the AHL.
While Meszaros is a familiar name who couldn’t catch on with the Avalanche, it sounds like other tryouts are going quite a bit better, at least according to Mike Chambers of the Denver Post.
Many subjective reports indicated that Meszaros had trouble keeping up at times during training camp, so it might be tough for the blueliner to catch on with another NHL team.
