Report: “Little or no progress” in today’s CBA talks

The latest round of CBA discussions brought about “little or no progress,” according to TSN’s Darren Dreger.

If there’s a slim silver lining to Wednesday’s sessions, it’s this: Steve Fehr told ESPN’s Katie Strang that the NHL and NHLPA did discuss money matters in a small group meeting. He wouldn’t divulge any juicy details, however.

Drug testing ended up being the main focus of the discussions instead, RDS reports.

Aside from that, Fehr echoed the NHLPA’s earlier gripes about the Alberta Labour Board’s ruling, which you can see in Strang’s Tweet.

(If you’re hoping for an end to the finger-pointing and PR slams, you are out of luck, too.)

The lack of significant progress is prompting reporters such as The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Sam Carchidi to ask that the two sides go before a mediator.

NHLPA head Donald Fehr didn’t seem too thrilled about the idea, though.
