It looks like Ryan Lochte has finally decided on his next training location.
Lochte, 29 and an 11-time Olympic medalist, is “likely to move to Charlotte to train for the 2016 Olympics” in a planned move from Gainesville, Fla., that could happen “in a matter of days,” according to sources cited by the Charlotte Observer.
Several Olympic swimmers train with Charlotte-based SwimMAC Carolina, including Cullen Jones, one of Lochte’s best friends. Jones joined Lochte for his August birthday celebration in Las Vegas after Lochte won three gold medals at the World Championships.
This news was expected. An email to Lochte’s manager and agent seeking confirmation was not immediately returned. (Update: One of Lochte’s representatives declined to confirm, deny or comment on the report.)
This Instagram photo was posted on Lochte’s account over the weekend, saying it was his last night as a Gainesville resident.

He’s also had three cryptic tweets since Sept. 30, including this most recent one:
Before the World Championships, Lochte told his hometown newspaper, the Daytona Beach (Fla.) News-Journal that he planned to spend some time in Charlotte with SwimMAC.
The newspaper also reported Lochte was hoping to train in Australia for about four months beginning this fall, but so far those plans have not come to fruition.
