Aaron West Hosts New Eight-Episode Series Exploring Pivotal Moments in Premier League History
“The Lowe Down,” “Inside the Mind,” & “Tactics Session” Return to YouTube with New Episodes This Season
Match Coverage of 2019-20 Premier League Season Begins Friday, August 9 at 2 p.m. ET on NBCSN and Universo, as Champions League Winners Liverpool Host Norwich City
STAMFORD, Conn. – August 7, 2019 – Two days ahead of the start of the new Premier League season, NBC Sports presents its newest original YouTube series, produced by the NBCUniversal Digital Lab, “CROSSROADS,” which explores pivotal moments in Premier League history and the potential wide-ranging implications of a different result or outcome.
Hosted by Aaron West, the eight-episode series confronts several “what-if” questions and delves into how these critical moments could have rewritten Premier League history had the outcome gone the other way. The first episode, premiering today on NBC Sports’ YouTube page, analyzes the hypothetical situation around what could have evolved if Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero had not scored on the final day of the 2011-12 season, which lifted his team to their first ever Premier League title.
New episodes of “CROSSROADS” will be available every Saturday for eight consecutive weeks at YouTube.com/nbcsports and will cover a range of iconic moments in Premier League history, including Liverpool star Steven Gerrard’s slip, Arsenal’s “Invincibles,” Tottenham’s food poisoning in the 2005-06 season, and more.
In addition to “CROSSROADS,” NBC Sports will continue to present new content this season on YouTube, including three digital shows that premiered during the 2018-19 season. Coming off a successful debut season last fall, Rebecca Lowe returns for “The Lowe Down,” offering her take on the top Premier League moments of the week followed by a reversal of the NBC Sports team’s TV roles, as she answers hot topic questions posed by her on-set colleagues. In addition, the “Inside the Mind” series will return with host Arlo White conducting in-depth interviews with some of the Premier League’s most prominent stars. Robbie Earle, Kyle Martino and Robbie Mustoe will return with “Tactics Session” this fall, offering comprehensive breakdowns of key goals, plays and tactics.
NBC Sports’ coverage of the 2019-20 Premier League season kicks off on Friday, August 9 with Liverpool v. Norwich City at 3 p.m. ET on NBCSN; Premier League Live begins at 2 p.m. ET on NBCSN, featuring commentary and discussion from NBC Sports’ Premier League broadcast team on-site at Anfield.
