As Chelsea continues to struggle, the club’s board has held a meeting to discuss Jose Mourinho’s future at Stamford Bridge.
After losing to Leicester City over the weekend, the Blues sit in 16th place in the Premier League, just one point above the relegation zone.

It is believed Roman Abramovich led the talks, although it is not the first time a meeting like this has taken place. Reports state these meetings began after Chelsea’s loss to Southampton in early October. However, as the poor results have continued and with the New Year approaching, Mourinho’s future at the club has now come into serious doubt.
Things may have boiled over after the Leicester loss, with Mourinho claiming he was “betrayed” by his players, as it seems he has officially lost the dressing room.

Guus Hiddink’s name has come up as a possible replacement, as the Dutchman took over at Chelsea in 2009 when Luiz Felipe Scolari was sacked mid-season. Hiddink won 11 of his 13 Premier League matches in charge at Stamford Bridge, losing just once as Chelsea finished third. He also led the Blues to an FA Cup title, but was not retained as manager for the next season.
Hiddink last managed the Netherlands national team, but resigned in June as the team struggled in European qualifiers.
