The game in 100 words (or less): It was back and forth for most of the night, and Sporting KC proved too much to handle after the Crew were reduced to 10 men on Sunday night. Ola Kamara did his best to give the road side a point after going down a man in the second half, but Matt Besler’s late finish solidified Sporting’s result at Children’s Mercy Park. The victory pulls SKC up to fourth place in the Western Conference, while the Crew remain in ninth in the East.

56' — Zusi finds a second — Graham Zusi had options as he broke down the middle of the field but the Sporting KC midfielder opted to take it all the way.

75' — Kamara bags a brace — Despite being reduced to 10 men, the Crew continued to press for an equalizer.

90+1' — Besler notches the winner off his noggin — After entering in the second half, Besler proved to be the difference in his return from U.S. Men’s National Team duty.

Bonus Even though he’s on the sidelines now, Greg Berhalter’s control is still on point.
