Juventus 2-1 Fiorentina

The question wasn’t when Gonzalo Higuain made an impact for Juventus, but more when will he make a difference for the defending champions? The Argentine wasted little time on Saturday, netting the winner for the Bianconeri against Fiorentina.

Sami Khedira’s first-half finish gave Juve the lead after 37 minutes, before Nikola Kalinic leveled things up in the 70 minute for the Viola. Juve dominated for large portions of the match, notching 19 shots on the afternoon, however, only four shots landed on target for Massimiliano Allegri’s men.

AS Roma 4-0 Udinese

It took awhile for Roma to open the new season on the scoring sheet, but once they got one the Giallorossi wound up with four. A pair of penalty conversions from Diego Perotti provided the home side with a 2-0 advantage with a quarter hour remaining, before Edin Dzeko and Mohamed Salah netted goals of their own to complete the rout.

AC Milan 3-2 Torino

Carlos Bacca’s hat-trick got AC Milan off to a flying start on Sunday despite several dangerous moments in the second half against Torino. The road pulled the match to 3-2 in stoppage time via Daniele Baselli, however, Torino couldn’t complete the comeback at the San Siro. Gabriel Paletta’s late red card gave the Rossoneri a scare but Milan held on for three points on opening day.
