Sunday’s game will be the fifth Harris has missed with a left knee injury. The good news for Dallas is that starter Paige Bueckers (concussion) is on track to return, giving the Wings a much-needed boost on the perimeter. JJ Quinerly has played rotation minutes recently but has not been productive enough to merit being rostered in fantasy leagues.

9dTyasha Harris (knee) is out for Saturday’s game against the Sky.

Harris will miss a second straight game after injuring her knee during Tuesday’s win over the Sun. As a result, Dallas will be without two rotation guards, as starter Paige Bueckers is in the league’s concussion protocol. While Maddy Siegrist may be the best option to move into the starting lineup, there should also be more playing time for Aziaha James or JJ Quinerly.

Bueckers will be re-evaluated on Tuesday to determine her next steps. The 23-year-old rookie will miss at least two games, including Saturday’s matchup with Chicago and Dallas’ game against Seattle on June 3. Bueckers’ absence leaves a significant hole in the Wings’ rotation, as head coach Chris Koclanes has leaned heavily on his starting guards (Bueckers, DiJonai Carrington and Arike Ogunbowale) thus far. Maddy Siegrist and Kaila Charles are potential replacements in the starting lineup, while rookies Aziaha James and JJ Quinerly may have the opportunity to earn additional minutes.

Yamamoto agreed to a contract with the Wings in February but faced long odds to make the final roster. The 5-foot-4 guard most recently played for the Toyota Antelopes, whom the Wings beat in their exhibition finale on Saturday. Yamamoto’s exit likely means JJ Quinerly’s chances of making the final roster are pretty high.

1moJJ Quinerly was productive off the bench, finishing with 16 points (7-of-10 FGs, 2-of-3 FTs), one rebound, two assists, two steals and one block in 13 minutes in the Wings’ loss to the Aces on Friday.

Quinerly was one of multiple Wings rookies to impress in their preseason debuts. The No. 27 pick in the 2025 draft was electrifying on both ends of the floor, getting to the rim at will and collecting steals after picking up full court. Quinerly finished with a team-high in points in limited action, and will try for similar production going forward as she looks to make the final roster.

The 5-foot-8 Quinerly enjoyed an outstanding four-year career at West Virginia, earning three All-Big 12 selections and two Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year awards. She finished her senior season with averages of 20.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 3.0 steals and 1.6 three-pointers per game, shooting 44.3 percent from the field and 82.9 percent from the foul line. While Quinerly will need to be more efficient offensively, as she averaged as many turnovers as assists last season, she can be a defensive pest at the WNBA level.
