According to a tweet from Knoxville radio vice Jimmy Hyams, Johnson has been “cleared by a Tennessee Student Judicial Panel, allowing him a chance to return to the football team.” The panel came to their decision Wednesday.Greg Isaacs, Johnson’s attorney, said: `We are pleased that

Johnson was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and false imprisonment in mid-February after allegedly choking a female victim and holding her against her will. Two months later, a judge reduced Johnson’s aggravated assault charge to misdemeanor domestic assault and dropped the false imprisonment altogether, provided Johnson can remain clean for the next six months.
The defensive tackle has been indefinitely suspended from the football program since his arrest. While head coach Butch Jones is aware of the panel clearing the player, a UT spokesperson said there’s been no change in his status as of yet.
Johnson joined the Vols as a junior college transfer in January.
