The Arizona Wildcats already had to replace a starting center this season, and now it must do so again before the season kicks off. Carter Wood took to Twitter to announce he will be forced to sit out the 2015 season due to a chronic foot injury.
Word of the injury’s impact on the senior season, and thus career, of Wood spread on Sunday, but Wood confirmed his unfortunate fate to fans Monday.
“I would just like to take a second to say thank you to Arizona football for the opportunity to play for them,” Wood said in a Twitter post. “Although I will not be able to play my last season, I will help my teammates any other way I can. Although I will truly miss it I can’t wait to see these guys have the successful season they have worked for all offseason!”
As previously reported, Arizona will slide left guard Cayman Bundage over to center and Zach Hemmila will be moved to left guard to fill out the offensive line.
