BACKUP OREGON QB MIGHT BE TRANSFERRING HOME

When Chris Harper was a highly touted recruit out of Wichita, one of the biggest factors in his decision making process was the chance to play quarterback at the college level. Harper turned down offers to play WR from places like Notre Dame, and instead signed with Oregon, who promised him a shot at playing quarterback in their high powered offense. Now, with Jeremy Masoli entrenched at QB, and a solid depth chart behind him, it looks like the fomer Kansas prep star might be looking at transferring home, according to his older brother.Harper had originally committed to playing at Kansas State before decommitting. Yet the rehiring of Bill Snyder might have gotten him to take another look at the Wildcats."Out of all of the schools, I felt most comfortable at K-State,” Harper told the Wichita Eagle. “When I was on campus at K-State, I felt totally comfortable. I have friends on the team - it just felt right. I don’t know how else to explain it - it just felt right."Harper spent time at a number of positions as a freshman at Oregon, carrying the ball 35 times for two scores, along with catching two touchdown passes. He only completed 4 of his 9 passes this season, throwing for one touchdown and two interceptions.
