The initial prognosis for Ryan Broyles was that the Oklahoma receiver would miss at least a month with a fractured shoulder blade.
Less than two weeks after suffering the injury against Miami (Fla), Broyles is back on the practice field and could very well return to the playing field this Saturday against Oklahoma Texas. Better yet, if you listen to a former teammate, he will return to the playing field this weekend.
Former OU and current Dallas Cowboys receiver Manuel Johnson, who remains friends with Broyles and texts him regularly, told the Dallas Morning News that Broyles will indeed play.
“Yeah, he’ll play,” Johnson said. “It will help.”
Head coach Bob Stoops, though, is not willing to go that far just yet. The coach said a decision on Broyles’ availability will be made either today or tomorrow.
