Virginia Tech looks like they’ll be missing their All-ACC kicker for spring practices.
I know, how’s Frank Beamer ever going to make due?
He’ll have to, as Cody Journell has had his preliminary hearing for a breaking and entering charge continued to May 10. Journell is serving an indefinite suspension following the December incident where he, along with two others, allegedly invaded a home after a physical altercation.
Journell could be facing a class 2 felony due to the fact that a dangerous weapon was allegedly involved.
Virginia Tech’s policy is that any players facing a legal issue will be suspended indefinitely until their matter is resolved. Journell was supposed to appear in court Thursday, but a request by the lawyer of one of the defendants had the hearing pushed back to the aforementioned May date.
Va Tech’s spring dates are from March 28 to April 21. Journell already missed the Sugar Bowl against Michigan.
Journell’s lawyer, Jimmy Turk, only said he is hoping “for a speedy resolution.”
