Irish face unknowns this weekend at Purdue

The team that Notre Dame trots out onto the field at Ross-Ade Stadium this weekend will be a complete unknown, as will their opponent, Purdue. The Irish will be without star receiver Michael Floyd, with a less than 100 percent Jimmy Clausen, and may or may-not have starting tailback Armando Allen available.

Just as unknown with be the Boilermakers. Will they be playing the team that rolled Toledo and came within a two-point conversion of Oregon in Autzen Stadium? Or will they be facing the team that got embarrassed by middle-of-the-road MAC team Northern Illinois.

Over at the Inside the Irish blog, we take a look at the opportunities that present themselves for the Irish in Saturday night’s game. It’s a game full of unknowns that could be the lynch pin for the season.
